Portable Application Testing (PAT) is the process of testing and inspecting the electrical appliances and equipment to certify that they are in safe working order to keep you staff at the workplace. • Earthing and bonding requirements
• Cable and component selection
• Checking the safe and correct operation of installed electrical components

• Basic understanding of 3 phase supplies
• Maintaining domestic electrical installations

Inspection and Testing Course

This theory and practical 5 day class is intended for domestic installers and inexperienced electricians. It is taught in a dual purpose classroom that allows you to put in to practice the skills and when you learn them. It is a difficult subject and this class provides you with certification in inspection and testing.

Candidates are expected to have an understanding and knowledge of electrical principles

This course content covers:

• Electrical inspection and testing
• Continuity of protective conductors
• Safe isolation equipment and procedures
• Insulation Resistance
• Earth Electoral resistance
• RCD testing
• Polarity
• Earth fault loop impedance
• Verification of volt drop
